Empowering Children

Empowering Children Beyond Survival

From shelter to self-sufficiency — through skills, mentorship, and community support. Our intervention programs focus on building confidence, life-readiness, and opportunity.

The Gap We Must Bridge

From shelter to self-reliance

In India, most children in orphanages receive food, clothing, and basic education.
But what they don’t get is access to equal opportunities like their privileged counterparts.

  • They lack quality learningcareer guidance, and real-world exposure.
  • Many leave the orphanage system at 18, only to end up in low-paying, menial jobs.

  • They are schooled — but not empowered to build a fulfilling life.

Our focus

Life readiness • Confidence • A future where children stand shoulder to shoulder

Our Approach: Beyond Academics

Aligned with Global Standards

» UN SDG 4 – Inclusive and equitable quality education for all

» UNCRC Article 28 – Every child’s right to education

We don’t just run tuition classes. We run life-transforming experiences.

Our Intervention Programs

From care to empowerment.

Unessa’s interventions are purposefully designed to bridge the gap between survival and self-sufficiency. Our projects are powered by volunteers, guided by empathy, and grounded in real-world outcomes.

We currently run impactful programs under our intervention umbrella, the most prominent being:

Introducing Project Sneh

Project Sneh is a volunteer-led program that provides Education, English Skills, life skills, confidence, etiquettes and real-world readiness to children living in shelter homes and orphanages.

  • Conducted throughout the academic year
  • On-Site at shelter homes and orphanages
  • Sessions are interactivefun, and engaging
  • Delivered entirely by passionate volunteers & Free of Cost
  • Structured around holistic development, not just academics

Why It’s Needed

The Schooling Gap

Most children in orphanages receive basic schooling but often lack access to the practical, employable skills needed to build a successful career.

The Life Skills Gap

Essential life skills like confidence, effective communication, and creativity—which are crucial for personal and professional growth—are often underdeveloped.

The Opportunity Gap

Upon turning 18, these combined gaps lead to unequal opportunities, diminishing their confidence and limiting their potential as they step into the outside world.

What We Teach

Learning for school, life, and beyond

At Unessa Foundation, our teaching goes far beyond textbooks. We deliver a transformational curriculum that nurtures the whole child—academically, emotionally, and socially.

Our goal?
To ensure every child in a shelter home learns with dignity, grows with confidence, and dreams with clarity.

We focus on three foundational pillars:

From rote to real learning. From memorizing to mastering.

  • Foundational Literacy & Numeracy
Helping children strengthen core subjects through interactive, project-based methods
  • Conceptual Learning
Live activities, visual aids, and experiments that make learning real and fun
  • Day-to-Day English Proficiency
Building conversational confidence through situational practice, storytelling, and role play
  • Business English & Etiquette
Teaching professionalism—from email writing to digital manners
  • Computer Literacy
Covering MS Office, digital tools, and an introduction to AI so children are not left behind in the digital world

At Unessa, we give them guidance, confidence, and a platform to grow.

  • Talent isn’t missing — opportunities are.

  • Without support, many are left behind after 18.

  • We bridge the gap between shelter and success.
